Dean Ferrero

	Mr. Dean Ferrero, age 70, of Metropolis, formerly of Mt. Vernon, died at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at  his home.
	Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31 at Zion United Church of Christ in Metropolis, where he was a member.  Rev. Ronald Ruggles Sr. and Mr. Ferrero's nephew, Father Burke Masters officiated.  Burial followed in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
	Mr. Ferrero served in the United States Army in Korea from 1952-54.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge #819, American Legion #141 and VFW #1376, all of Mt. Vernon.
	Surviving are his wife, Betty (Millikin) Ferrero; three daughters, Patricia Ferrero and Todd McElhiney of Mt. Vernon, Diane Bremer and husband Monte of Metropolis and Kathy Dowd and husband Philip of Metropolis; one son, Mark Ferrero and wife Janel of Mountain View, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Matt Bremer and wife Andrea, Darren Bremer, Jessica Bremer, Jason Hillebrand and Jay Dowd, all of Metropolis and Kacie Ferrero and Kyli Ferrero, both of Mountain View, Calif. and two sisters, Donna Rogero and husband Albert of East Palatka, Fla. and Isabelle Newbold and husband Jody of Creal Springs.
	He was preceded in death by his mother, Matilda Kellerman; Father and step-mother, Lawrence and Dorothy Ferrero and one grandson, Mark Allen Hillebrand.
	Visitation was Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis.
